MF-1 is a new type of drilling fluid system with unique micro-foam has been developed. It exhibits many advantages in comparison with other drilling fluid systems and has been successfully used in hundreds of wells to drill depleted reservoirs worldwide. The geological structure of depleted wells can be very complex and it is often difficult to complete the wells by conventional drilling fluid systems. The micro-foam drilling fluid technology has been shown to significant improve drilling rate, reduce the risk of lost circulation, protect the production reservoir while reducing the drilling costs.

Application Scope In Drilling
(1)For low pressure and leaking formation, the product can effectively reduce the column pressure of drilling fluid, prevent formation leakage and solve the drilling technical problem of low pressure leakage result from common drilling fluid.
(2)Drilling fluid with high viscosity has high capacity of sand-carrying which is more than ten times of single-phase fluid.
(3)It can effectively clean well bore, reduce chip hold-down effect of pressure difference, free mechanical drilling speed to the utmost and improve drilling efficiency.
(4)Because of low solid content, bit life is extended.
(5)For the formation sensitive to flow velocity or formation with not strong cementation, it is helpful to well bore stability.
(6)With no influence to underground work of power drilling tool like MVD, it can be used in drilling of directional wells and horizontal wells.
In reservoir protection
(1)It has low pollution to core and debris and is helpful to analyze and evaluate the oil and gas layer.
(2)The micro bubbles this product made can form very thin temporary blocking area in well shaft to protect oil and gas layer.
(3)When stiff foam drilling fluid sprayed from the bit, aspheric micro bubbles with pressure are formed because of the combined effect of pressure reduction and vesicant. These micro bubbles with energy not only reduce the drilling fluid density but also can be squeezed into the micro cracks and micro pole to produce bridge blinding effect which avoids the permanent damage to oil and gas layer caused by solid particle bridge blinding.
(4)For formation sensitive to flow velocity , it can reduce the damage to oil and gas reservoir.
(5)This product can be extensively used in well washing and repairing operations. Due to its low density, low content of solid, high fluid viscosity, and micro-bubble effect, it can minimize secondary pollution of well washing and repairing fluid to reservoir.
Usage and Dosage
(1)When stiff foam is used in section below technical casing, it is required to drill the cement plug at the beginning and then displace the drilling fluid within the circulatory system and the casing with water. In addition, the oil and sand within circulatory system shall be cleaned before displacement.
(2)If MF-1 is evenly added into wells, and the addition amount is 6% , and then cycle three to five circulations, the ground testing
of the drilling fluid density will be 0.65 ~ 0.85g/cm
3. Drilling cannot be operated unless desired performance of drilling fluid is reached.
(3)Marsh funnel viscosity of the stiff foam drilling fluid is more than 150 seconds, the plastic viscosity 25 ~ 30mPa • s, dynamic shear force30 ~ 40Pa. If the viscosity is too low to affect the stability of the foam, it is recommended to add 0.5% to 1% of MF-1.
(4)During drilling process, solution made of water and MDP -1 is added in certain time intervals depending on drilling fluid increments, and the proportion of water /MDP -1 = 15 : (1 ~ 1.2) .
(5)Dilute with water if the drilling fluid viscosity is too high.
(6)If stiff foam is applied in open hole, foam fluid with 6% of MF - 1 content should be prepared in advance, and the volume is consistent with the borehole volume. It should be hydrated for 5 to 8 hours, then displace the original drilling fluid and circulating for 2~3 hours before drilling operation 5. Packaging and Storage It is packed by paper/plastic bags of 25kg net weight each and stored in cool, dry and ventilated places. Guarantee periodis 1 year.
Environment and Safety
This product is non-toxic and harmless to human and environment. No need of special attention when using. Avoid contacting with eyes, skin and clothes, otherwise wash with plenty of water. No swallowing.
